Bracket is a deliberately small, family-run independent nanobrewery that started its journey in the heart of Alexandria, Sydney. No big investors, no big sales contracts — and an unexpected recent move to Marrickville, its new home.

Bracket produces an ever-changing array of well-crafted beers that the team loves to drink and is proud to share.

Future Brewing is an independent, brewer-owned microbrewery and taproom based in St Peters, Sydney.

Future's approach is grounded in precision, balance and drinkability, combining forward-thinking techniques with a respect for traditional brewing fundamentals.

The name reflects the brewery's core philosophy: staying connected to where beer is heading globally — particularly the evolution of modern craft brewing in the US and beyond — with ongoing travel, collaboration and experimentation influencing each release. From hop-forward styles to clean, crisp lagers, the goal is simple: to keep pushing forward, bringing the best of modern brewing to Sydney.

Inner West, NSW

  • IPA
  • Pale
  • Lagers
  • Hazy IPA

Based in Sydney's Inner West, Kicks is proudly independent and brews all of its beers in-house. Kicks is keen to change perceptions and break the norms of Aussie beer drinking with a constantly evolving range of beers.

The Kicks ethos is straightforward — good beers, good times — and they mean it. Kicks is committed to creating premium products for both the discerning craft beer drinker and the inquisitive newcomer, and aims to go about its business in a friendly, approachable manner, where transparency and inclusivity are key.

West Melbourne, VIC

  • Rice Lager

355ml cans · 50L kegs

Born behind the bar at Benchwarmer, a West Melbourne izakaya, Oishii World brews rice lagers built for grilled skewers, salty snacks, and good company. Oishii World was founded by Benchwarmer's publican (RIP) Lachlan Jones, and Benchwarmer's customer (RIP) Liam Alexander-Quinn. Between them, they pretty much add up to one capable guy.

Dedicated to making crispy crunchy rice lagers made for drinking on repeat, Oishii World currently produces a Yuzu Rice Lager and a Black Rice Lager. They're both absolutely ripping.

Botany, NSW

  • Bavarian
  • Ales
  • Gose
  • Lagers
  • Traditional

375ml cans · 50L kegs

Slow Lane is a small husband-and-wife-owned brewery driven by a passion for brewing beer and sharing it with others. All of Slow Lane's beer is produced in its own brewery in the Sydney suburb of Botany.

Slow Lane's focus is on insightful beer experiences, frequently releasing new beers across a diverse range of styles and flavours. The brewery takes inspiration from old-world European beer styles and produces modern interpretations of them. Each beer has its own story, aiming to take you on a journey to where that style originated.

Slow Lane makes beer differently to most breweries today, using traditional brewing methods to produce slow-fermented beer. Its small size makes it possible to use the labour- and time-intensive methods that most modern breweries have abandoned in favour of more efficient, industrialised processes. Slow Lane naturally carbonates its beers through can and keg conditioning, and some are fermented with mixed cultures of wild yeast and bacteria and aged in oak barrels.

About The Plug

Meet the Boss

The Plug is run by Lachlan Jones — former proprietor of Benchwarmer, the West Melbourne izakaya, and co-founder of Oishii World. Years of pouring beer on one side of the bar and brewing it on the other taught Lachlan exactly what venues need: great independent beer, delivered without the runaround.

A few phone calls later, five of Australia's best independent breweries have a guy in Melbourne — and Melbourne's best venues have a direct line to them.
